Some of them just to enjoy the magnificent view, do their shopping or go for a coffee or a drink. At the western end of the harbor stands one of the most important monuments in the island, which is considered a landmark of Chora, the Church of Parapotiani.

 Little Venice

Sample ImageMykonos hides a lot of surprises. One of these is the settlement of Aleukantras or the Little Venice, which is one of the most picturesque places in Mykonos. Little Venice  can be found at the southwest end of the port and owes its name to the fact that many wealthy captains built their houses directly on the sea here.  Little Venice it is considered one of them most idyllic places and visitors can enjoy a wonderful sunset at the bars overlooking the sea. Many international tourists prefer to pay huge amounts just to stay in those charming fisherman's hutments. It is a completely different experience. A whole new world waiting to be explored.

  Mykonos Wndmills

Sample ImageMykonos is also famous for its windmills. Everywhere you look you see them all around you. However, for those who wish the interior of such a windmill they should visit the Agricultural Museum of Mykonos. The Museum is located on the main road connecting Hora and Platis. 

Mykonos Town Shopping

TSample Imagehe market of Mykonos is unique. All Mykonos Town (chora)  is full with boutiques and  little shops. There so many wonderful things to buy.  Visitors  can find in Mykonos Town everything from folk art to masterpieces by artists of international repute. Many exhibitions of the works of younger artists aslo take place in this area, which is why it is thought to be of particular importance. Because every year celebrities from the world of art pour through the island and thus the young creators can hope to have their talent recognized by somebody already acclaimed.

One can find handsome traditional items such as woven articles, knitwear and lace. There are also fine jewellery and folk art worked with loving care. One will sample the delicious almond cakes and the renowned 'kopanisti' cheese and will be left speechless by the vitality emitted by the paintings with subjects taken mainly from Mykonian nature and done by highly gifted artists.
